Spiders & Snakes Celebrate 25th Anniversary With 9th Studio Album Year Of The Snake Featuring Guest Appearances from Members of Fishbone, Asia, Yes, Steeler, Bitch, London & More!
Hollywood’s underground glam-metal rockers SPIDERS & SNAKES celebrate their 25th Anniversary with their 9th studio album – and first since 2008’s Melodrama (distributed by E1) – full of 10 new original glitter-rock anthems and a gloriously campy remake of the 1978 ANGEL hit “I Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore”, featuring guest appearances from members of 80s L.A. Metal legends STEELER and BITCH. The album will be released on digital stores worldwide on October 28th, 2014 on the Sansei Records Label.
On Year Of The Snake, band founders Lizzie Grey (guitars/vocals) and Tim Yasui (drums/keys/vocals) are joined by Phil St. Vincent on bass/vocals and former SWEET SAVAGE lead guitarist/vocalist Chris Sheridan. The album shows off this lineup’s songwriting depth as each band member shares their lead vocal chops and songwriting duties – differentiating this album from previous releases sung mainly by front man Lizzie Grey.
Guest appearances by Angelo Moore (FISHBONE), Billy Sherwood (YES), Ryo Okumoto (ASIA) and Dave Soble (THE FREEWHEELERS) “put the album above and beyond even our own expectations” says front man Lizzie Grey, who was recently put back in the spotlight after the re-release of the Penelope Spheeris classic film “Decline of Western Civilization: The Metal Years” as the leader of the infamous Hollywood band LONDON.
The album was mixed by Anthony Focx (STEVEN TYLER, VINCE NEIL, NIGHTRANGER, TED NUGENT) in Nashville and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (ROB HALFORD, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DOKKEN, YES, SEPULTURA) in Los Angeles.
A 25th Anniversary and official Record Release party will be held at the Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood (location of their first show back in 1990) on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at 8:00pm.

Hollywood glam rock heroes and Corporate Punishment Records (KOCH DISTRIBUTION) recording artists SPIDERS & SNAKES are set to appear on CRUE BELIEVERS, a tribute to MOTLEY CRUE being released by Deadline/Cleopatra Records this fall. Appearing on the tribute with SPIDERS & SNAKES will be LA GUNS, BULLET BOYS, ENUFF ZNUFF, Gilby Clarke from GUNS N ROSES, Jack Russell from GREAT WHITE, Stevie Rachelle from TUFF and many others.
The band will contribute the track "Public Enemy #1" which was written by SPIDERS & SNAKES' frontman Lizzie Grey and originally appeared on MOTLEY CRUE's 'Too Fast For Love' debut album (an earlier press release that was issued erroneously mentioned the band appearing on a tribute to GUNS N ROSES).
Additionally the trio is once again a quartet having added former RATT touring guitarist, Jimmy Wigle to their lineup. Wigle made his live debut with the band at their well received Club Vodka gig at Los Angeles' Knitting Factory last week, which was also the screening party for the Cleopatra Records motion picture documentary HOLLYWOOD ROCKS (see photo with Jimmy Wigle from show attached) . The show sold out and was well-attended by many rock superstars, including members of MOTLEY CRUE, RATT, WASP, POISON, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, GUNS N ROSES, FASTER PUSSYCAT, GREAT WHITE, WHITE LION and many more musicians who appeared in the film.

(27 September 2007 - Los Angeles, CA) Los Angeles glam rock icons Spiders & Snakes are set to release their eighth studio album, 'Melodrama', on November 6th through Corporate Punishment Records (distributed by Koch Entertainment).

Corporate Punishment Records founder, Thom Hazaert, contacted the band directly thru their website and ensuing conversations led to a deal which would see Corporate Punishment Records releasing not one, but THREE albums by the notorious Hollywood rockers! (reissues of 'London Daze' and 'Hollywood Ghosts' are also included in the deal).

“We are extremely proud to be affiliated with a band like Spiders & Snakes. Lizzie Grey is one of the true unsung Godfathers of Modern Hard Rock, and an incredible talent, as well as a true inspiration as one of those rare people who TRULY makes music because he loves to.” said CPR President Thom Hazaert. “And while it’s a little left field of the usual CPR release(s), S&S has made a 15 year career out of releasing brilliant, pure records, solely for the love of their craft, and it’s definitely an honor to be a part of that.”

The twelve tracks on offer highlight the band's affinity for 70's glam rock indulgence and his knack for writing hooks as wide as the Atlantic Ocean. Featuring a stunning cover of the Bay City Rollers' classic "Yesterday's Hero" (sung by drummer Timothy Jay), and highlighting Sluggo (of Oingo Boingo fame) on a terrific saxophone solo, 'Melodrama' also sees Spiders & Snakes covering themselves with "Fear Of Flying" which originally appeared on the band's 1992 release 'Arachno II', with rewritten lyrics by Spiders & Snakes co-founder Jay, The band has written a wealth of material for the new album, including tracks such as the Cheap Trick inspired "Shoot Me Down" (written and sung by bassist Phil St. Vincent), the in your face hard rocker "Kicks", and the melancholic ballad, "Another Lonely Day."

With the release of 'Melodrama' Spiders & Snakes will be taking the new album to the masses with touring planned both on domestic ground as well as throughout the European territories in 2007 and 2008.
